Red Wine Syrup for Preserving

Perfect for bottling cherries…

Prep. Time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 15

Makes: approx. 11/4 litres, enough for bottling approx. 1.5 kg of cherries

Sugar                              300g

Water                              300 ml

Red wine                           750 ml

1. Place the sugar and water in a pan over a medium heat.

2. Add the red wine and bring to the boil.

3. Remove from the heat and use as a sugar syrup for bottling fruit such as cherries…
